The annual Easter egg hunt, the most anticipated event on our spring activities calendar, returns to Tahiti Village this Sunday. Summer Sunday Luau Enters Last Month Of Season

This Sunday’s luau, the 11th of 15 weekly events featuring authentic Polynesian entertainment and cuisine, marks the final month of the 2014 season for our popular summer showcase. The season began on Memorial Day weekend and will end on Labor Day weekend, the last Sunday in August. The few remaining dates are as follows:

While you’re eating, Hot Lava’s singers, dancers and specialty acts will thrill, delight and whisk you away to a tropical paradise right here in the desert. Sunday marks the fifth year of our popular luau. To commemorate the special anniversary of our signature summer event, we’ve built a decorative volcano and adorned the stage with tropical foliage and tiki statues of fearsome Polynesian warriors. We admit these additions don’t quite reach the level of last year’s major announcement, when we told you we were moving the luau to a new location and day and adding a third main course. That one was tough to beat. However, in keeping with our tradition of giving you all the news on your vacation club, no matter how significant, well, here you have it – new stage decorations. Pretty cool though, huh?

 

The luau is 7 p.m. in the Island Courtyard every Sunday through Labor Day weekend. Owner pricing is as follows:

General Admission

Adults: $29.99 / $34.04 including all taxes
Children: $15.99 / $18.40 including all taxes

VIP

Adults: $39.99 / $45.04 including all taxes
Children: $20.99 / $23.90 including all taxes

Children’s pricing is for ages 4-10. Children 11+ pay adult pricing. Children 3 and under are free but still ticketed.

VIP pricing includes preferred seating, early access to the buffet, and choice of a complimentary cocktail OR souvenir photo.

Barbecue Area Is Now Open

Grilling at Tahiti Village just got a whole lot easier with the opening of our new barbecue area. Located on a plot of vacant land behind the Lazy River, the new 10,000-square foot barbecue area has 13 stainless steel grills, increasing the number on property from five to 18. Their addition will greatly accelerate your steak to grill time during peak barbecuing hours. The pavilion will also include numerous new tables (umbrellas to come!) and chairs where you can sit and enjoy your meal.

The new barbecue area is part of a larger expansion that includes an elevated stage for planned musical events and a proposed new adult-only hot tub. The new spa will have seating for 17, about double that of the original hot tub off the main pool. It will hold approximately 4,500 gallons and have two sloped entrances, with tiki torches on either side of a rock waterfall that flows directly into the spa. The hot tub is currently under construction and expected to open within the next 60 days. “We think this will greatly enhance the vacation experience of our owners,” said Mike Rounds, Tahiti Village general manager.
