Tahiti Village welcomes our CES visitors

LAS VEGAS – New gadgets, from the helpful (robot assistants) to the hopeful (autonomous vehicles) to the hair-raising (a follicle-stimulating helmet), are drawing visitors by the hundreds of thousands to the annual Consumer Electronics Show, which opened here today.

To all you attendees staying with us at Tahiti Village, we welcome you to our South Pacific-themed resort and hope you have a wonderful time during the convention. We are delighted you chose us as your CES headquarters.

If it wouldn’t be too big an imposition, could you please pick us up a few things from this year’s show? We’ve provided brief descriptions and photos so you’ll know what to look for. Thanks!

Vibrating shorts

These short shorts, sure to change the legless pants industry as we know it, contain two vibrating sensors on the belt, which connect to your smartphone via Bluetooth and help you navigate tricky urban environments by buzzing when you need to turn left or right. For those of us who do not know our left from our right, this is helpful technology indeed.

Levitating speakers

Ever since we saw The Exorcist we’ve been simultaneously fascinated and horrified by the sight of things normally grounded by gravity floating weightlessly in the air. So when we heard about levitating speakers, we knew we just had to have a look.

Here’s how it works: Powerful electromagnets housed inside an accompanying levitation station keep the speaker suspended in the air until the battery begins to run low, at which point the speaker descends to the levitation station and begins to charge wirelessly all by itself and with no interruption in the music.

What will they think of next? Answer …

Selfie drones!

These things are surprisingly affordable, making it even easier to indulge in our narcissism.

Virtual reality shoes

“Haptic feedback” and vibrations give you the sense of walking on the virtual surfaces you see in front of you when you don this special footwear. Now we can finally walk across a bed of flaming hot embers, building vital team camaraderie without suffering any of the agony.

Talking refrigerator

We need help sticking to our New Year’s resolution to eat healthier. What better than a talking refrigerator to guilt you into grabbing an apple? This gabby food box can also read out recipes, tell you when you’re running low on certain items, and dish out recipe suggestions based on its contents. Mmm, ice cream!

Thank you once again for staying at Tahiti Village. Have a great week!

Las Vegas New Years Celebration!

How do you distinguish New Year’s Eve in Las Vegas from any other night? Not easily. We are a city for which New Year’s revelry is a daily occurrence in spirit if not fact, so in order to meet the expectations of 300,000 or so visitors hoping for an even greater adrenaline rush, we are obligated to up our game. Is that even possible?

It is! There is an abundance of New Year’s Eve festivities in Las Vegas, highlighted by an eight-minute fireworks display above the Strip at midnight. So if you’re staying with us over the holiday and looking for something to do on NYE, you won’t suffer for options. Just click here for all the information.

It has been a great 2016 here at Tahiti Village, and we wish you all a happy and healthy New Year. We hope to see you in 2017!

It was “busyness” as usual at Tahiti Village in 2016

It has been an eventful year here at Tahiti Village, with numerous projects contributing to the value and beautification of your home resort.

January saw the completion of Phase II of our multimillion-dollar guest unit enhancement. Taken together with Phase I, which brought new flooring, carpeting, and sofa sleepers to all rooms, the addition of new furniture, lamps, bedding, and artwork will have us looking great for years to come.

The first month of 2016 also saw us begin work on our vacant lot beautification project, which resulted most significantly in the May opening of Manihi Isle. The land between the main pool and lazy river, for so long a fenced off stretch of dirt and rock, is now a tranquil gathering spot with green grass, fresh flowers, and lounge chairs.

Fresh coats of paint to all fences, carports, gates, and guest room interiors completed our January tasks.

In March we embarked on a major landscaping refresher and replacement, and in May we installed garage fencing and a fencing extension atop the Manor Suites wall.

The July launch of our new online store meant you could buy as much Tahiti Village gear as you like, wherever you were.

After a delay, dining room tabletops finally arrived in August and were promptly installed in the Bora Bora units. They can take anything you dish out!

Finally, in November, we installed SALTO lock systems on all exterior gates, including the pool area and lazy river. This state-of-the-art, wire-free Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) technology is much more reliable than the old mag-stripe keycards. Best of all, the key won’t demagnetize if it comes into contact with your cell phone.

Thanks again for being part of the Tahiti Village family. We truly value your ownership and hope to see you in 2017. Happy New Year!

Whipped Coffee Sundae

Introducing The Village Cafe! Now you can enjoy more delicious beverage options.

Proof once again that we are always seeking ways to give you the best possible resort experience, we unveil the all-new Village Café.

Behold its eye-catching orange tile!

Marvel at its larger, easier-to-read menu!

Attached to the WikiWiki convenience store in the main lobby of Tahiti Village, in a remodeled space previously occupied by the Grab-N-Go, the Village Café will offer – in addition to the above-mentioned aesthetic enhancements – even more food and drink options to savor.

According to a well-placed source, espresso will join the ranks of scrumptious hot and cold coffee choices – providing the extra jolt you’ll need after an all-nighter on the Strip – and wraps will take their place among the existing delicious sandwich selections.

This same source also hinted at the possibility of a sushi platter, and for this we can only hope!

New Year’s Eve party!

How to plan your time off and boost your happiness

Research proves that Americans who take time to plan how they will use their vacation time in the year ahead are happier than those who do not. Simply having something to look forward to – like a trip to Tahiti Village! – improves your happiness. But nearly half of American households fail to take the simple step of planning their time off, a step that can be made much easier by having a timeshare.

Here are some simple steps from our friends at Vacation Better to make sure that you don’t make the mistake of not using all of your vacation time:

First, confirm your paid time off benefits. Don’t take someone else’s word for it, confirm what you have available by asking your manager or HR director. After this is accomplished, the next important step is to review your calendar for the year to see when you could actually take a vacation.

Now, the fun part: this is where your dreams and goals come in. What are you going to cross off your bucket list this year? Where have you been wanting to travel? What are you dying to try? You don’t necessarily need to know what you’ll do with every vacation day—just plan the days off now. Getting it on the calendar is what matters most.

Finally, it is time to talk with your boss and colleagues about your plans to take time off. But don’t be anxious: nearly all senior business leaders believe vacation time benefits their employees – and the company.

It’s time to stop feeling guilty about trying to take a vacation each year and remember there are many health and wellness benefits that come along with an annual vacation. You work hard all year, you deserve to have some well-earned, time off. With a timeshare you are ensuring that you take a vacation each year since it is already prepaid!

Timeshare Vs. Peer-To-Peer Rentals: What’s the Verdict?

A recent popular trend has become share or peer-to-peer vacations – like Airbnb, VRBO and HomeAway – where vacationers rent rooms or houses directly from homeowners. For most families a vacation is a once-a-year event, where everything needs to go right to fully enjoy the relaxation a vacation provides. Yet, people are still going on vacations that don’t fully meet their needs, even through these peer-to-peer services.

While this type of vacation can work for some people, a recent survey of over 1,000 vacationers conducted for the American Resort Development Association (ARDA) by research group Leger revealed many drawbacks. Respondents said they least liked the fact that there was no housekeeping (47%), no concierge/front desk (23%), and that it was not a part of a resort (17%).

Now while this survey showed the things vacationers who use peer-to-peer services did not like, it also showed some of the things that they found very beneficial to their vacation enjoyment. Two of the main things respondents cited were the fact that their rented unit had a kitchen and that there were multiple rooms.

So, what offers these in-demand amenities without the downside of the drawbacks found in peer-to-peer rentals? Timeshare resorts like Tahiti Village!

According to a recent article in Hotel Management Magazine, “A quick glance at the media hype surrounding Airbnb, HomeAway and other sharing economy hotel alternatives would lead many to believe that these companies are the founders of a new concept that is revolutionizing the industry. But, in fact, another facet of the hotel industry¬—timeshare—considers itself the ‘original’ sharing economy, and has the facts to make a compelling case.”

Timeshare accommodations offer a large living space that includes a kitchen for when you want to cook your own meals as well as multiple rooms that give you both space to be together as a family or privacy to be alone. And, most timeshares also offer housekeeping, a concierge/front desk and a resort style property. Ultimately, timeshares offer the size and space that peer-to-peer services offer while also providing the key amenities that have almost become expected during a vacation. The last thing you should be thinking on vacation is vacuuming!
