NHRA drag racer Terry McMillen to make his first 2016 visit to Tahiti Village this Wednesday

We invite you to meet Terry McMillen beneath the porte cochere of the main lobby building from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Wednesday as the NHRA drag racer makes the first of his two yearly appearances at Tahiti Village. You can talk to and pose for pictures with Terry, marvel at (and maybe sit inside of) his awesome 8,000-horsepower Amalie Oil dragster, and enjoy free popcorn. We are proud to host Terry and his crew during the NHRA Nationals at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway every spring and fall. Good luck, Terry!

Young hunters to scramble for hidden treasure during our annual Easter Egg grab

The annual Easter egg hunt, the most anticipated event on our spring activities calendar, returns to Tahiti Village this Sunday. Young collectors and their parents should meet at the Island Courtyard for the 9 a.m. start time. We will have hidden a bounty of more than 3,000 plastic candy-filled eggs throughout the lazy river for our intrepid searchers to poach. Following the hour-long hunt we’ll have music, games and a craft station set up in the Island Courtyard for everyone to enjoy. Don’t miss it!

Tahiti Village Facebook page receives its 100,000th “Like”

Positive affirmations are like gold in social media, and we struck it big when our Tahiti Village Facebook page recently received its 100,000th like. We would never have believed it when we launched in December 2013 or even as recently as September 2014, when we got just our 5,000th. The fact we have achieved 100,000 likes in just over two years is a testament to the efforts of our staff, the enthusiasm of our fans, and above all the influence of social media. As we rocket past 100,000 on the way to what we hope will be many more, we thank all our valued owners for taking the time to visit our Facebook page and click “Like.”

Top Historical Attractions in Vegas

Despite the fact that Las Vegas is a relatively young city compared to other cities in the United States, there’s still plenty of fascinating history to explore.

If you’re in the mood for more than just bright lights and casinos, check out some of these historic attractions.

Helldorado Days

One of the longest-running attractions in the Vegas area is Helldorado Days, which dates all the way back to 1934. Originally, this festival was held to encourage visitation to the area after construction of the Hoover Dam. The event is one of the most popular in Vegas and attracts visitors from all over the world. Today, Helldorado Days features a rodeo, carnival, parade, art show, auctions, a poker tournament — and so much more!

Clark County Museum

Head to the Clark County Museum for plenty of education and local culture. Here, you’ll discover historic homes, a replica of an old-fashioned print shop, railroad artifacts, and even a natural history exhibit. When you tour the Anna Robert Parks Exhibit Hall, you’ll discover how locals lived from the Ice Age to today.

NV State Museum

Another museum you don’t want to miss when visiting Vegas is the Nevada State Museum. There’s a little bit of everything at this museum; you’ll not only learn about the mobsters who made Vegas what it is today, but also about desert wildlife and the history of nuclear testing in the state. The museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is part of the Springs Preserve.

BC Arts Festival

For the past 54 years, the Boulder City Arts Festival — also known as Annual Art in the Park — has been a favorite yearly event for Vegas residents and visitors alike. This festival offers free admission and welcomes over 100,000 people every year. You can feel good about buying art at this festival, as it raises funds for the Boulder City Hospital Foundation.

Las Vegas Philharmonic

The Las Vegas Philharmonic dates back to 1998 and is an important part of recent Vegas history. Serving as the only philharmonic of Southern Nevada, the Las Vegas Philharmonic has won multiple awards and landed on plenty “best of Vegas” lists. Performances range from Beethoven and Brahms to festive holiday concerts and much more.

After exploring these historic Las Vegas destinations, head back to your luxurious Tahiti Village suite to relax and take advantage of the wide range of amenities available. A Vegas vacation is the perfect time to pamper yourself, so be sure to also visit the Mahana Spa for an array of relaxing treatments and services.
