Every hour is a happy hour at 17° South Booze & Bites, but now, for the first time in our brief history, there is Happy Hour. Please stop by on your next visit and enjoy half off well drinks, domestic beer and specialty drinks with selected food items from 2-5 p.m. daily inside our beautiful new space in the main lobby. This is for dine-in only. No to-go. Maybe we should call it Happier Hour?

The reviews are in: 17° South Booze & Bites is a hit!
Since its June grand opening, 17° South Booze & Bites has been serving up one great meal after another – and receiving one complimentary review after the next. Even before its much anticipated debut, we were touting our beautiful new bar and bistro as a great place to grab a bite, relax with a drink and watch a game in a peaceful tropical environment. It turns out we were prophetic. Numerous people (a strong half dozen so far) have shown their love for 17° South the best way we can think of – online, for the entire world to see! We’re trying not to let it go to our head, but how can we not? Here are just some of the adjectives reviewers are using to describe their experience at 17° South Booze & Bites:
-
Fantastic!
-
Great!
-
Excellent!
-
Amazing!
-
Delicious!
And those are just the appetizers, tasty morsels thinly sliced from a banquet of main courses. We know you’re hungry for more, which is why we’re serving up entrees of four- and five-star reviews to assist you with those difficult menu choices when you try 17° South Booze & Bites on your next visit to Tahiti Village.
We begin with a flattering five-star review posted June 13 by an enthusiastic Las Vegas local, “Todd S” from Summerlin.
“Fantastic food, great atmosphere and excellent service! There is an amazing outdoor patio overlooking lush tropical landscaping and the resort’s signature tropical pool. Loved the sliding glass doors that brought the outside in. Perfect place to grab a good bite and transport yourself to the tropics. It’s like being on vacation. The bartenders are fantastic with 24 beers on tap and the food was great. Love the island ribs and the best hamburgers in the city!”
Thank you, Todd! You know all the right things to say.
On July 12, “Wendy F” from Berkeley, Calif., wrote a review so thick and juicy we’re not sure even Adam Richman (the jolly one from Man V. Food, not the current Man Light version) could eat it:
“My husband and I dined at 17 South Booze & Bites last week during our stay at the Tahiti Village in Las Vegas. The restaurant has a nice outdoor area with TVs although it was way too hot to sit outside and eat. We sat next to the TVs inside away from the traffic of people. When we arrived to the restaurant we were greeted right away and told we could sit wherever we would like. Within minutes we were greeted by our waiter, and were given a menu. Minutes after, he arrived to take our order. The Passion Fruit Margarita I got was very good, the Pina Colada my husband got he loved. I order the lettuce cups, no shrimp or chicken (I’m Vegan) they were very very good! I was actually full which was nice. My husband got a burger with fries, I do not remember the name of it but it was rare the way he likes and he absolutely loved it. Overall the experience here was great. The staff was friendly, the prices are on point, the food was delicious, and atmosphere nice, and pretty touristy. I will be returning here in the near future on our upcoming stays.”
Wow, that was Thanksgiving filling! Maybe you need to loosen your pants button? We’ll let you sit and digest awhile before we serve the next big review. In the meantime, here’s a little something to pick on prepared by a man of few words, “Dan B” from Studio City, Calif.
“Friendly staff, great bar selection & awesome food. Prices are more then reasonable. Locals, discover this gem!”
You gotta love a guy who says so little yet says so much. If Dan’s review were a food item, it would be a convenience store hotdog. Not a lot to it but boy does it hit the spot.
Our last main course comes in portions, small-plates style, from “Amber E” of San Diego. It’s a delicious sampler platter that is also the perfect lead-up to dessert. (And we thank her for her photos.)
“Cool little open air tropical restaurant/bar, located just off the lobby of Tahiti Village, overlooking the pool area. Just opened 2 weeks ago, and had better selection, and was more reasonably priced than I expected.
They have lettuce cups, crab cakes, specialty pizzas, fish and chips, Mac and cheese w/ roasted ham (looked cheesy and tasty), salads, quesadillas, etc. All priced $8-13.
We tried the fish & chips, lettuce cups (I got shrimp, but think chicken might be better), garlic fries (so tasty) and chicken tenders, and they were all quite good. Check it out!”
Have you saved room? Trust us – you need to read this even if you’re still full from the previous reviews. “Anthony B” from Las Vegas delivers a dish that is somehow light and fluffy like tiramisu yet completely decadent like a hot fudge brownie sundae. In other words, yummy!
“Food tasted excellent especially the seasoned French fries. My children had the hamburgers and my wife and I eat the steak sandwich. My wife’s steak was cooked medium and it came out medium. I ordered med-rare and got it well-done. I told the server and he replaced it quickly with a positive attitude. The replaced steak was delicious. I am still happy with restaurant because the problem was taken care of without the server being rude or disrespectful. I would eat there again and recommend it to others.”
We thank all the reviewers for taking the time to share their experience at 17° South Booze & Bites and hope you’ll be tempted to eat their words on your next visit.
17° South Menu Offers Diverse and Delicious Items
We didn’t intentionally set out to make your life more difficult when we created the 17° South Booze & Bites menu. Upon closer examination, however, it appears we did. At 17° South, our brand new bar and bistro, you’ll always have something great to eat. The hard part? Deciding from an array of tempting choices.
Immediately you’re confronted with tantalizing Starters, which include a quartet of traditional favorites (quesadilla, chicken wings, chicken tenders and shrimp cocktail) and a fun-to-eat newcomer (island lettuce cups). Let-tuce satisfy your cravings!
From the portion of the menu we call Bits & Bites comes more delicious offerings you can eat with your fingers (island style ribs, garlic fries, coconut shrimp skewers) or a fork (macaroni and cheese with pit roasted ham, 17° South crab cakes).
“The macaroni and cheese is awesome,” raved owner Carolyn Bove.
You want pizza? We got pizza – three Specialty Pizzas (three cheese, meat lovers, buffalo chicken) and a build-your-option that’ll drive you crazy with topping choices.
To show our appreciation for steers everywhere we also created three Specialty Burgers: teriyaki, BLT and the 17° South burger. And while not technically an official Specialty Burger member, our eponymous Tahiti Burger is nevertheless infused with its own brand of Special Deliciousness.
Last but not least, under a category we call All Day, you’ll find a miscellany of salads (chopped mixed green, Asian chicken), sandwiches (club, grilled cheese and tomato, open face flat iron steak), a taste of Italy (spaghetti and meatballs) and an all-time British pub favorite (fish and chips).
We hope you’ll forgive us for all the delicious decisions.
Owners get first taste of 17° South Booze & Bites at exclusive pre-grand opening party – “it’s wonderful”
The much anticipated 17° South Booze & Bites earned rave reviews among owners who attended a private party at our new bar and bistro ahead of today’s grand opening.
“I think this is over the top fantastic,” said Carolyn Bove, of New York, visiting with her husband George and friends Vicki and William Nieter. “It’s absolutely beautiful – open and airy with lots of seating and TVs. The space generates a really great feel.”
“I love that it opens up to the outside,” Vicki added. “I don’t feel crowded or pushed in.”
Sharon and Bobby Bedford, owners from Los Angeles, grabbed a prime spot on the patio overlooking the pool. They were joined outside by family members who shared their table and selections from a complimentary buffet beneath the palapa-covered awning.
“So far it’s great,” Sharon said. “It’s really nice.”
“I like the atmosphere,” Bobby remarked, a golden beverage awaiting his attention.
Seattle owners Kathy and Dennis Vantaamen, also seated on the patio, were equally impressed.
“I think it’s wonderful,” Kathy said. “The location is so much better. It’s a great spot.”
“It’s a really nice addition to the resort,” Dennis said. “The location, the atmosphere – everything’s great.”
Owners enjoyed a selection of tempting taste treats that included grilled cheese and tomato sliders, crab cakes, meatballs and shrimp cucumber cups from the 17° South kitchen. The Boves and the Nietors enjoyed them so much they changed their dinner plans.
“We were going to see the Love show and were planning to get there early to gamble and get something to eat at the casino. Now we’ll just gamble,” Carolyn said, adding that the macaroni and cheese “was awesome.”
“We’ll definitely be back.”
We hope to see you soon!

17 South Booze & Bites, our new bar and restaurant concept, opening soon in the main lobby building
Remember when we told you about our exciting new food and bar concept opening this summer? It now has a name: 17 South Booze & Bites. The title derives from Tahiti’s latitudinal coordinate and reflects what you can expect to find on the menu. It will be a casual place where you can unwind with a drink and enjoy a bite to eat, either inside or at one of eight outdoor tables overlooking the pool.
We’re shooting for an early summer opening and will announce it here on the blog and our Facebook and Twitter social media channels. You’ll find 17 South Booze & Bites in the main lobby in the spaces previously occupied by the wedding chapel and the Wiki Wiki Stop. 17 South Booze & Bites is the centerpiece of our lobby renovation, which includes the recently reopened and remodeled WikiWiki and its “Quickie Wiki” companion. We’re excited for the opening and hope you are too!
Don’t risk your Big Game enjoyment. Join us for a great day of food, fun and football this Sunday at Tahiti Joe’s!
The question of where you’re going to watch the Big Game is just as important as who you want to win it. Your enjoyment of the largest sporting spectacle of the year can hinge on factors unrelated to events on the field. Like the width of people’s heads. Pick a venue where the TV screens are too small and you can miss the whole thing on account of a freakish cranium.
“Hey, did you see the game yesterday?”
“No.”
“Why not?”
“I was watching someone’s head.”
Food is another consideration that can hugely influence your satisfaction. How many times have you accepted a friend’s invitation to watch the game, only to find out when you arrive to his sad and shadowy apartment you’ll be eating bag chips and clam dip out of a plastic container from that creepy off-brand convenience store? You know, the dicey one in the strip mall with cheap wood paneling that looks like it gets held up every half hour.
Don’t risk your game day enjoyment. Stop by Tahiti Joe’s, where you’ll be treated to great food and drink specials and six 42-inch flat screen televisions showing the game well above head level. You won’t miss a thing!
Our onsite tiki bar is serving all-you-can-drink domestic draft beer for a onetime price of $35, the purchase of which entitles you to a game day buffet of hot dogs, nachos, tacos, pizza and wings for another measly $10. That’s a lot of joy for just 45 bucks.
Tickets are limited and going fast, so purchase early by calling (702) 440-6950. Or stop by Tahiti Joe’s and see the bartender. We’re kicking things off at 2:30 p.m., an hour before game time. Be sure to arrive early to stake out a premium spot.
We wish you an enjoyable Super Bowl (there, we said it) Sunday. May all your prop bets come through!

A transformation at Tahiti Joe’s will usher in a new era featuring bar food favorites. We have devised a large, Americanized menu that is guaranteed to please your palate with an all-star lineup of traditional appetizers, burgers, pizza, sandwiches and salads. You’ll enjoy proven winners like cheese quesadillas, loaded nachos, wings, fingers, cheeseburger sliders and a barbecue bacon burger. We will also have a children’s menu (PB&J!) and delectable desserts.
The adjustments at Joe’s aren’t stopping with the food. We are also upping the fun quotient by installing a number of arcade games, pool tables and a foosball table, all of them guaranteed to go great with our scrumptious menu items. Now instead of being a place where you eat and run, Tahiti Joe’s will become a destination to meet and eat and play and stay. Of course if you prefer you can order poolside from the same great menu and have it delivered directly to your lounge chair. Pool service began last week.
