Tips to help you have an unforgettable Birthday in Las Vegas

It’s a well-known fact that no other city in the world parties like Las Vegas. This is what makes the city a perfect location to celebrate your birthday, and pretty much anything else for that matter. If you are planning on making the Entertainment Capital of the World the location of your next birthday—or any other celebration—here are a few things to consider.

Hosting Tips

As the brains behind the shindig of the year, you will have a lot on your plate. Many Vegas resorts, such as Tahiti Village, have excellent event planners and concierge professionals on staff who can help you design the perfect Las Vegas stay and party. If you plan on holding your event at a venue outside of your hotel or resort, you may find they can provide many services, such as catering or photography to make your party planning easier.

When it comes time to making travel and accommodation plans, give your group the necessary information and allow them book their own reservations rather than footing the bill yourself, which can get expensive and frustrating. Also, be sure to avoid trying to plan every minute of your guests’ stay in Las Vegas. Schedule a few group activities, including the main event, but also give them free time to explore the city. This makes everything easier for you, and more fun for everyone else.

Where to hold an Adult’s Party

From casinos to restaurants to nightclubs, you can easily plan an adult party that will last all day and well into the night. For a daytime celebration, consider the Encore or Daylight beach clubs. For an after dark party, XS Nightclub and Hakkasan Nightclub are two of the most popular spots in town. Of course, there are plenty of non-club venues as well. CelebrityCars, for example, offers 20,000 square feet of event space filled with exotic and classic cars.

Where to hold a Child’s Party

While you might not think of Las Vegas as a kid-friendly city, there are many venues where your child can celebrate their special day. For the miniature thrill seeker in your life, consider holding their special day at the Adventuredome, America’s largest indoor theme park. Great for younger children, Childs’ Play offers an amazing indoor playground. A party at King Putt includes 18 holes of indoor mini golf and the option to include a magic show.

For your next Las Vegas party, keep these tips and suggestions in mind for a celebration everyone is sure to remember.

Benefits of Staying in a Gaming-Free Hotel or Resort in Las Vegas

While the thought of Las Vegas tends to conjure the clamor of slot machines and the click of poker chips, not everything in Vegas is centered on the gaming industry. In fact, even if you love spending time at the casinos, there are plenty of reasons why you might want to consider staying at a gaming-free hotel or resort for your next Vegas vacation. Here are a few benefits to consider for your next trip to Vegas.

Take a break from the excitement

Vegas is all about sensational fun, but if you plan on relaxing during your vacation, the casinos might not offer the most favorable atmosphere. A gaming-free hotel or resort can offer you the chance to unwind and slow down for a while. Since there are plenty of non-gaming options on or near the Strip, you do not have to worry about being too far from the excitement. When you are ready to jump back into the thick of things, a short walk or car ride will have you right back in the center of the fun.

Something for the whole family

It is important to remember the gaming industry tends to cater to adults almost exclusively. While some casinos might have a few kid-friendly options, the whole family might feel more comfortable staying in a gaming-free environment. These facilities also generally offer more family-friendly activities, such as Tahiti Village’s Summer Sunday Luaus or movie nights.

Perfect for a couple’s getaway

If you plan on visiting Las Vegas with your special someone, you might be interested in some quiet, alone time. While the fun and glamour of the strip can be a great way to play together, you may prefer the peaceful and luxurious ambiance of a non-gaming resort when it’s time to wind down and relax with your loved one.

Hang out with your friends

If you are heading to Vegas with friends, you will likely want to party on the Strip for the first couple of nights, but you may also want a more peaceful environment to relax during the downtime. Getting away from the casinos for a portion of each day can mean more time to talk, relax and enjoy the company of great friends.

Whoever you travel with on your next Las Vegas vacation, choosing gaming-free accommodations can ensure a more refreshing, enjoyable time will be had by all.

Where to Take in a Movie in Vegas

While planning your next Las Vegas vacation, catching a movie might not be the first activity on your list. Of course, if you would rather skip out on the casino atmosphere entirely during your family evening, you can always head over to the Regal Village Square Stadium 18 theatres on Sahara Avenue.

Century 16 South Point

In addition to viewing the latest blockbusters in luxury seating, and XD Extreme Digital Cinema, you can check out the Classic Series at Century 16 in the South Point Hotel Casino & Spa. Lazy River

Top Outdoor Adventures in Las Vegas

After a day or two in the Las Vegas casinos and indoor attractions, you might be on the lookout for a little fresh air. Luckily, Las Vegas boasts average January temperatures around 60 degrees Fahrenheit—downright balmy weather for those traveling from frigid climates. Take advantage of this mild weather and hit Vegas’ top outdoor hot spots:

1. SkyJump above the Strip.
Hit North America’s highest jump at the Stratosphere Hotel, Casino & Tower’s SkyJump Las Vegas, which allows you to plummet 108 floors to the platform below. Jumpers must meet height and weight requirements.

2. Hike in the Valley of Fire.
Drive an hour northeast of the Strip to Valley of Fire state park to explore natural rock formations scattered across the desert landscape. The park is open 24 hours and admission is $10 per car.

3. Kayak the Colorado River.
Evolution Expeditions offers Kayak tours that launch below the Hoover Dam (a 40-minute drive from the Strip) and continue downstream through the river canyon. Tours include a stop to hike to natural desert hot springs.

4. Zipline over the Mojave Desert.
FlightLinez at Bootleg Canyon gives you the chance to zipline at speeds up to 60+ mph down the Red Mountains in Boulder City—30 minutes off the Strip. Be ready for light hiking to the first zipline.

5. Hit the greens.
Golfers will have no trouble finding a tee-time in Las Vegas, but those looking for a true golfing experience Vegas-style should try Angel Park. The course offers 36 holes designed by pro-golfer Arnold Palmer and great desert views seen throughout the park..

6. Cycle around Red Rock Canyon.
This Red Rock Canyon natural conservation area is 30-minutes from the Strip and offers sandstone bluffs, seasonal waterfalls and desert hiking trails that allow prime visibility of wildlife. Bike or drive the park’s 13-mile trail. Bike rentals are available outside the park and van shuttle service to the canyon is also available.

7. Snowboard in the desert.
Winter in Las Vegas means snow just 30 minutes northwest of the Strip. The Las Vegas Ski and Snowboard Resort on Mount Charleston sells day passes and offers ski and snowboard equipment rentals.

8. Race a dune buggy.
Traverse desert terrain in a Mini Baja Race course located near the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, just minutes from the Strip. Sun Buggy offers this 30-minute desert racing experience complete with buggy rental and transportation to the course.

Looking to get romantic in Vegas on Valentine’s Day? Try one or all of these 10 things and you’ll be in silk pajamas listening to Barry White before the night is through.

Of all the indentured adjectives forced into descriptive servitude for Las Vegas, romantic isn’t among those that come naturally to mind. It’s only with the imminent arrival of that arrow-shooting cherub that the romantically challenged among us here in Sin City are reminded of our yearly Valentine’s Day obligations.

This of course results in a dash to the nearest internet device and a subsequent Google search for “romantic things to do in Las Vegas.” Well who knew there were so many? This place is romantic up the ying yang, so if you’re lucky enough to be in a happy and fulfilling relationship, your task isn’t to find a way to spend the evening under Cupid’s coercion but to narrow the choices.

Don’t worry – you don’t have to move a mouse. We’ve gleaned the contents of page after page after page of lovey-dovey suggestions for your convenience. Only the choicest have made it to this article. The rest is now up to you. Pick and choose your favorites or select all 10 if you’re compulsively ambitious or in the wild throes of fresh love.

And here they are!

What’s the next best thing to massaging each other? Getting massaged together by someone else. Enjoy a 50-minute couples’ hot stone massage at Tahiti Village’s very own Mahana Spa this Valentine’s Day. Contact the spa for pricing and to make a reservation. You’ll be in very good hands.

You don’t have to go all the way to Venice to experience a romantic gondola ride. Just head over to The Venetian Hotel, flag down an authentically-garbed gondolier and behold the city of canals Vegas style. That’s amore!

Rome may be the city of fountains, but how many of them dance like the Bellagio’s? We ask this rhetorically, as a way to elevate the latter’s reputation at the expense of the former and whet your appetite to see this spectacular free water show. You can watch it on the street or inside the Bellagio. This is Vegas, where even fountains are elevated to the level of performance art.

Locals know that an invitation to go watch the planes land is a propositional euphemism. If you’re the literal type and actually like watching planes land, there is a place you can go. The north-facing Eastern Avenue parking lot on the south side of McCarran International Airport gives you an unimpeded view of the big airliners bringing in the precious cargo so vital to the Las Vegas economy. There’s nothing saying you can’t break open a bottle of bubbly and steal a kiss. Or, you know, whatever.

Las Vegas never runs out of ways to spin a wheel, but until the opening last year of The High Roller, you could never take one for a ride. The world’s tallest Ferris wheel at 550 feet, The High Roller offers spectacular 360-degree views of the Strip and Las Vegas valley– especially at night. Just say “I will.”

If you’d prefer to see Vegas from a bird’s eye view, take the City Lights helicopter tour over the Strip and downtown. It takes just 20 minutes – all the time you’ll need to pop the question. Like, where are we eating?

What would Valentine’s be without a romantic dinner? And what’s more romantic than Paris? If you can’t afford a quick trip to the City of Light, Las Vegas comes to the rescue once again. Just book a reservation at the Paris Hotel’s Eiffel Tower restaurant and you’ll not only get a wonderful view of the Strip but the aforementioned Bellagio fountains as well. Request condescending waiters to complete this delightfully authentic French dining experience.

Take the Lake Mead dinner cruise while you can. If western drought conditions persist much longer, it’s possible the lake will be bone dry by 2020. Until then, all aboard! Just remember: Don’t go swimming after eating.

As anyone who has ever tried it could probably attest, attaining membership in the Mile High Club comes with certain risks, namely discovery, embarrassment and arrest. We suppose that’s part of the appeal. So what if you’re risk-averse but would still like to get in on the action? Book a flight with Love Cloud. This Las Vegas company not only encourages the practice of midair amore; it also provides the plane. Talk about the friendly skies.

Planning on getting married in Las Vegas? You’ll need bureaucratic approval. Waiting for a wedding license at the Clark County Marriage License Bureau may not seem romantic, but if the line is long enough, it may at least give you time to reconsider spending the rest of your life with the hottie you met at XS three hours ago.

Love to all!

Barrett Jackson car show

World’s greatest collector car auction and event coming to Las Vegas tomorrow through Saturday. Sold!

If you’re visiting us this weekend and looking for something to occupy your time before a night of gambling and shows, we recommend the Barrett-Jackson Car Collector Event and Auction at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino. This is the event of the year for classic car enthusiasts, and it’s just 2½ miles from Tahiti Village at 3950 Las Vegas Boulevard South.

Come see some of the world’s finest classic vehicles and bid on your favorite. Who knows? Maybe you’ll hit it big at the tables and be able to make a run at that `65 Vette you’ve always had your eye on. Barrett-Jackson also brings together an array of rare automobile memorabilia. Unique dealership signs, hood mascots, transportation toys, gas pumps and garage relics will be sold to the highest bidder. The event begins at 8 a.m. daily and runs tomorrow (Sept. 25) through Saturday. Admission is $45. Don’t miss it!

Who’s up for a spin on The High Roller? Odds are you’ll love the view from the world’s tallest Ferris wheel.

Just when you thought Las Vegas had run out of ways to spin a wheel, along comes The High Roller – a giant Ferris wheel that, at 550 feet, is the tallest in the world. The High Roller opened March 31 and is the centerpiece of The Linq, a $550 million retail, dining and entertainment district on the Strip between the Flamingo Hotel and The Quad.

The observation wheel has 28 pods that can accommodate 40 people each. At full capacity, more than 1,100 people can ride The High Roller at the same time and enjoy a spectacular 360-degree view of the Las Vegas valley. The ride lasts 30 minutes, and each pod is equipped for video and musical presentations.

Ticket prices are $24.95 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and $34.95 from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. An express pass is available for $59.95 if you don’t want to wait in line. There is also a one- and three-day flex pass for $44.95 and $54.95 respectively.

Don’t miss The High Roller on your next visit to Las Vegas. Getting there from Tahiti Village is easy. Just board our free Strip shuttle. The observation wheel is just across Las Vegas Boulevard from the Mirage, one of our two Strip drop-off locations.

Because this is a brand new attraction, Caesars Entertainment is currently not offering complimentary or discounted tickets to its timeshare partners. Your best chance at receiving a discount would be to check with a Total Rewards location at one of the Caesars Entertainment Las Vegas properties to see if they are providing any specials to their rewards club members. The rewards club is free to join and can be found in all Caesars Entertainment Las Vegas locations. We’ll be sure to let you know if and when Caesars enters into a High Roller ticket partnership with us.

Experience a Vegas night out that’s more than you think

Boarding our new Saturday Night Shuttle is a great way to sample a variety of nightlife opportunities within minutes of Tahiti Village. The shuttle departs every Saturday night for Wish, a favorite of Las Vegas locals where you can have a Strip nightclub experience without the lines, cover charge and attitude. From there the shuttle heads to Town Square, a popular retail and dining center that heats up after dark with numerous entertainment choices. Of course if nothing but the Strip will do, we’ll be happy to put you right in the center of the action. Click on the link below for comprehensive information on Saturday night fun.

Our new nightclub affiliation will leave you in a Haze

Lots of Vegas nightclubs call themselves “cutting edge,” but few actually deliver the goods. Haze actually does by virtue of its location, inside the luxurious Aria Hotel and Casino at City Center, and state-of-the-art everything.

We are pleased to announce our new affiliation with the Light Group’s hottest nightspot, from the same partnership that brought you Jet. We are now offering shuttle service to Haze every Friday and Saturday night beginning Feb. 3. It is the same arrangement we had with Jet, which ended with the Mirage nightclub’s closing last Labor Day weekend. We will depart from the lobby at 10 p.m. and return at 2:45 a.m.

Female Tahiti Village owners and guests get in free. The first 15 male owners who register with a concierge are also admitted free. Additional male owners receive a discounted admission rate, and non-owner females and males pay a discounted admission rate.

Now you have another great reason to put your owner’s card to use. No wristbands required. Please register with a concierge or call (702) 440-6915 for information.
